As you can see from the attached photos these are the S1 and S2 sensors located on the main roof motor of my e36 cabbie.

What I would like to know is are they in the right position ?

The reason im asking is in the manual I downloaded from this brilliant place for adjusting the roof it states that microswitch s1 and s2 are not adjustable but it looks pretty clear to me that someone has definitely tried to adjust due to the paint removal.

Has anyone ever dealt with this before and cqn give me any guidance.

Do both sensors have to be aligned as they are in the picture with my thumb holding the bottom one or is it something else ..?

My lid goes up and down on my cabbie but no movement at all from the hood itself so on first glance at the motor it looked like it was all rusty so I thought it was knackered but since I took it off and had a proper look it seems ok and thing seem to move tike they should which is when I noticed the paint damage to the screw head.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Tony.
