I have ha a problem with my central locking since I got my car and never really got roud to looking at it. It's quite strange, it's a 1997 318 coupe, and the problem I have is, if I unlock the car on drivers door, the boot and fuel cap unlock but not the passenger door, but if I unlock and lock on the passenger door everything works, this is the same if I am inside or outside the car. Does anyone have any experience or a common place to start?

i agree , the passenger door locking motor is the fault , the reason you can operate evry thing from the passenger door is that you are manaly turning the barrel and locking the door, and operating the micro switches which in turn send signals to lock / unlock the drivers door ./ flap /boot .

It's a bit fiddly to get the actuator off and on the lock itself but a bit of patience and all should be fine.
