    Hi all,im having afew central locking issues on my 1996 328i coupe its not got remote central locking.the problem is with the boot it wont lock/unlock with the doors & petrol flap,if i unlock the car from the drivers door the passanger door & petrol flap unlock but the boot remains locked.but if i lock/unlock the car from the boot the doors and petrol flap will lock/unlock fine!iv checked the wireing coming intoi the boot where the hinges are but all the wires look fine.if anyine has any idesa it would bt much appreciated??

    ummm... is the glove box locked?? my car's boot doesn't open if the glovebox is locked ...'valet mode', probably not it but worth saying.

    Is yours a vert? Im pretty sure the saloon and coupe have no actuator for the glovebox i.e. You ahve to lock it manually, it has nothing to do with the central locking.

    Yes, mines a vert, but I thought that boot logic was the same on others (?).

    As said, if you remove the plastic around the wires that go to the boot lid at the side there you can look for broken wires, I had a coupe once which had a neeeearly broken wire that would play up something rotten, could see the culprit wire breaking immediately, was obvious, cut it at the nearly broken bit, crimped the two halves together again with a connector, fixed.
