I have always used the key to operate the doors (two front, rear hatch) and the filler cap lock... Never had an alarm type fob or key so that's the reason why. Central locking has always engaged no issues. Holding the key in lock position (usually the drivers door) closed the folding sunroof and windows no problems.

Opened the car last week, all doors unlocked and filler cap, now no doors lock unless I lock them manually and the filler cap remains unlocked. I cannot close any windows or sunroof using the key.

Windows, sunroof in fact all he other electrics seem fine. The model I have does not have a central locking switch inside the car.

I have checked all the fuses and they are fine. They key is fine in all the locks. But there is no central locking.

I have read quite a number of posts but before I start ripping into the doors or glove box out to check there does anyone have any suggestions as to where the problem might lie?

have you checked for voltage at the central locking fuses with a test light?
