hi i have just purchased a bmw 320d m sport 5 speed and also as i am trying to unlock the doors using the central locking system their are times only the driver door opens.

however when getting in the car and selecting the door unlock button it only locks the door and wont even open the driver door wont open however within a few mins of a long blast on the motorway the button in the car works fine and also the central locking works fine. tried this with both keys and same problem.

also i have tried all sorts after reading the threads on this forum and nothing. just gets a little irratating as it doesn't seem to work on a morning and cant get in passengers unless they wana jumop in through the window lol coz door wont even open from the inside

I think this might be an issue with the GM5 module, if I recall the name right! Let me see....

Yep, check this out BMW General Module 5 (GMV, ZKE V)

I had the same problem. It was usually worse when really hot or really cold outside.

I had my GM5 module repaired by a greak bloke called Collin Abraham. Google BMW GM5 repair and have a look at his site.

Very prompt repair. Been perfect since!
If it aint broke, don't fix it!!!

2003 E46 320d - Central Locking problems (FIXED) have a look at that link... most of the information you need is in that link, if it's the same issue!
Done: M Sport Kit, Angel Eyes, Tinted Rear LED Lamps, Remap, Exhaust, 130i front discs and calipers, VMR VB3 alloys, Eibach Pro-kit springs, Thermostat, Aux water pump, Rear View mirror replaced
On the to do list: iPod Integration, ICE, replace passenger side door mirror, change passenger seat heating element ... Maybe sell the car
