Sorry for the very simple question. I have a 2001 E46 318i 1.9L and the car has sat idle on my driveway for several months. It's declared SORN.

Tried to start it up today, battery was flat, jumped it but couldn't go too far, just circled around my private block a few times and left it on idle for 30 mins. Switched it off and back on again, but wouldn't fire up, just ticked a few times.

Q1. Is the battery toast, or do I just need to take it for a good 30 minute drive to get the charge in it? I don't have a volt meter to test but I plugged in the OBD cable to clear a fault and one of the options on INPA showed the battery voltage was 6.7.

Q2. What battery do I need? Checking Kwit-Fit, it recommends the 075 battery for £70? I don't want to spend much, maybe £30 max and I am selling car soon.

Q3. Is it very easy to change myself?

I'll look to get a battery charger, but if I need a new battery, which one should I go for? Something cheap and cheerful.
