Yes, i don't see why not. If he gets stuck or struggles, i’ll just write an automatic Tool Set 32 test file for him - one click and it runs itself - job done.

Three important questions to ask the seller:
1.) Is it definitely Ediabas compatible?
2.) Does it have double K-Lines? (sometimes referred to as KKL)
3.) Does it use the FTDI or Prolific chipset?
Thanks for your time and help, got activation code off the UFL unit in the back and phones are paired now and every thing is working OK.
    Cheers.

Yes and BMW wonted £80 to put it on diagnostics, so they said but probably would have done the same. So I am well pleased and thanks again for the help.

Have asked the question and the answer is
100% Ediabas compatible (comes with ver 6.4.7)
    100% Double K- lines
100% Uses FTDI Chipset (not RL!)
    Hope that helps,
So would this be a handy bit of kit to get for future use for fault codes, service reset, activation and deactivation of software stored on the ECU and what software would I need to support this.
