Thx for the reply,so its probably the wire(s) have broken yes? looking at that link I dont feel comfortable removing airbag and disconnecting battery? what about radio codes or airbag going off?
I take it its deffo not just a fuse then? so a replacement stalk would be easier than taking mine appart? I'm pretty good mechanically but bmw kinda scare me as very costly when they go wrong?

If its just the button and not affecting the indicator then i would say its the wires. If you disconnect the battery for 30 mins the airing won't deploy. The radio im not sure on however as i have an aftermarket stereo fitted by the previous owner. Mines broken thus i had the link to hand.

I do not think it will be hard but i am happy with electronics..
