Not the usual duff sensor, or one sensor not working, but the rear parking sensors on my E46 convertible do absolutely nothing at all... No beeps, nothing.

I suppose the first thing for me to check will be the fuse - can anyone tell me where the parking sensor fuse(s) is/are located?

Alternatively, if the fuses are not at fault - what is my next course of action?

    Cheers
    Gary

You may find its the buzzer on the drivers side by your right leg looks like a little grill.do your light left on alarm still work?my buzzer went lights left on alarm still worked though so don't rule it out if it does still work.if you still hear clicking from sensors change the buzzer at the front. Got mine second hand from quarry motors great guys there.

Thanks mate, but already checked that. The 'lights on' buzzer works fine, and there is no clicking at all from the sensors.

Could be the main control unit not sure if it's in the same place on a convertible mine was above the battery behind the carpet on drivers side in boot.

    Hi All

Apparently the ECU has gone on my car parking sensors. I've been told by my local Indy that he can change the part but it needs coding and that only the local BMW dealer can do. They want to charge me £350 for the complete job which is a lot of money. Is it true about the coding thing? Can I not just buy the part an fit it myself?

    Thanks Mr Crimps

PS - does anyone know a good garage in the Preston / Lancashire area
