I have a BMW compact cup car and ive took the whole wiring loom out the car M44 engine .

Obviously i want to have away with the EWS and Key etc etc and just have push button start with electric cut off.

Im making my own car loom from scratch with the bare minimum need,

I run a standard ECU (well chipped from superchips under rules and regs)

if i dont have the EWS linked up with the ecu at all etc will the car still start? someone told me on the OBD (old type) if a wire is cut to the ecu then the car will start but you cant do it to the OBD2 so if that is the case ill be ok not using a EWS box etc as i wont have a wire going to ecu.

Sorry its a bit long winded but i just want to have away with the box and key.

Nope, that's for older, different models.
You'll have to stick with EWS, or use an EWS emulator.

The ECU needs just one signal wire, but the box will need to be powered, and connected to the key reader ring, with a key chip.
