    Hi Guys,

While driving along in my motor car then getting stuck in serious traffic - I was thinking about the 1-series auto stop/start and what a good idea it was.

Then I thought about how it works and came to the conclusion that a DIY version would be pretty straight forward to setup by using one/two button switch (ideally mounted on the steering wheel), a couple of relays, some wires, couple of cups of tea and a quarter of an hours worth of head scratching...

Would be interested to hear if anyone has attempted something like this?

    Thanks,

    Mark.

there's nothing wrong with a 95 clio... (top of the range one I'll have you know...)

In my post I was thinking of on a BMW - but on anycar, principles would be the same - unless you have a remote start interface on the alarm system, which I guess could make this a whole lot easier...

I'd say its a pretty tricky piece of kit for the BMW's, I think there was a mk2/maybe mk3 Golf that had a similar system on the Golf Citi or something but didn't sell well due the fact that it was a c*nt to park it and got on peoples nerves
