    Hi all,
Ive owned my 2000 325 coupe for two weeks now and i have a problem thats got me stuck My windsreen washers wont work!!! Ive checked the fuses & all seem ok, ive tried another motor ( not a new one) and there was no noise from that either!.. When i pull the wiper stalk the wipers will operate but no water

Can anyone tell me if there is a common fault with the washers on Bmw's?
Thanks in advance for any help

Have you checked ALL the fuses in the box?

It sounds like you are not getting power to the motor? Could be a relay perhaps

I will PM a couple of members to see what they suggest

As Rym says, check power is available at the motor. Use a bit of contact cleaner on the plug connection which will eliminate a dirty connector. Also, check for power at fuse no.s 49, 52, 59. Report back once you have done this.

As mentioned above, first check for power at the washer pump when operating the washers. The washers are controlled by the ZKE general control module. There is a relay but only for the wipers. This could be a module fault.
Things to check would be the fuses as above, the wiper switch, the connections at the wiper switch and the general module which is behind the glove box.
at the wiper switch you could check the switch for continuity between pin 6(brown/black wire and pin 4 (brown/violet wire) when you operate the washers( disconnect the wiring plug then check the switch only)

    Sorry if it's gobbledegook

    Thanks Guys,
We checked the wire that connects to the washer pump and there is a 12 volt reading when the stalk is pulled & the wipers do come on but the pump is dead could this be the pump and its just bad luck that the other old pump i tried is also faulty???
    Thanks in advance

Try taking two wires from the battery to the pump to check if it works
