    Morning gents,

Put a deposit on this last night:

    2004/04 BMW 320D 320 D ESTATE TOURING DIESEL 6 SPEED BM HISTORY 1 OWNER TAX&TEST | eBay

Am I right in thinking that I can just remove the air con panel off, purchase the climate panel, which will work in its place?

    Many thanks,

    Alex

It will work to a point but to get it to work 100% you will need to fit the lower actuators I did this and it works perfect its fairly hard but worth it in the end if you don't fit the lower actuators the lower/floor vents won't open I found a guide to follow but can't find it now

So is it literally straight off with the old straight on with the new?

    No nasty wiring surprises?

    Thanks

That's interesting, I hope you can find the guide as I always thought this was an intensive job with the dash needing to come out and a new loom going in so I pretty much gave up on it.

Also I bought the facia as well (the facelift version) mine did the front and window fan when I first put it in, but when I swapped it back out, my manual one seemed to get confused and wouldn't select the fan I wanted at all. I swapped them back over again set it the fan that was working and swapped them back over again and it seemed to work the correct fans again.

From what i can remember and my memory isn't great I think from about 2003 most or all of the loom is the same you just need to fit the lower acuators which isn't that bad
I had a look for the guide this morning to no avail sorry but it was on a US site

I had a feeling the guide from BMW was covering the older mechanical variations but I wasn't entirely sure. I'll have to read up on it a bit more. So did you only replace the actuators for the footwell fan? (I'm not well up on AC units)

I gave up when I was doing mine as I thought I'd done damage with the manual going slightly crazy so I gave up on it. I'm pretty certain if you set the manual to two fans you can get actually control of those two fans with the digitial unit as I initially did. It's only when I came to swap them back over it went a bit mad.
