    Hi,

I have an intermitant problem with my wipers. One minute they work fine and the next not at all ! The wipers never stop working half way up/down the screen, only when they come to rest at the bottem. the water still squirts when they r not working. I sometimes have to switch the engine off wen i am driving the car because it seems to reset the wipers and then it works again for a while ! The wipers have the speed sensor setting. I have been told 3 different things. An Auto-electrition tested it but as it was working at the time, he found nothing wrong !

One of the things i was told was a control thingy behind the drivers dash board... £300 but this was after being told it could be something else !

Now im just confused and do not have money to burn !

    Thanks Max

It could be a faulty wiper module. This is located behind the panel on the underside of the dash above the driver side foot well.

If it is not there, on later models they moved it to behind the glove box

IIRC it's a black unit with a blue section where the wiring goes in

    Wow thanks,

That makes more sense now, i was told that... by the one of the people who guessed the problem, but i he said it was behind the glove box.

The thing that i was quoted £300 for was what you said. I think i will need to get a secondhand one !

Is that the proper name for it ? and now i need to find out which one it is !

    Thankyou

On my 1992 318is it was on the driver side closest to the door and when I did my engine conversion 1995 M3 I noticed they had moved the location to the passenger side behind the glove box

If you PM me the last 7 digits of the chassis number I will search out the exact part number for you as different models and years differ from time to time
