    Hi,
First post of any forum, just bought a 04 645ci. Car is going great, just finding a few niggling things with it the longer I have it. The boot lid for one,if I lock the car with the key fob, open the car with the key fob, press and hold the boot release the boot pops up about 2 inches. I close the boot down, press and hold the boot button again and pops open fully perfectly. Seems once I lock the car and reopen it it fails to open fully again. Is there a function I'm missing....or is it just jammed?
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Kenny

    Hi,

Any ideas on this? Can someone briefly explain the boot opener, is it hydraulic driven or spring loaded?

    Cheers

It is spring loaded only. It could be that the spring is weak, and intermittently not pulling the 'lid clear of the secondary boot catch position - like the one on the doors, to latch the door, even if you don't shut it properly - not sure if this vehicle has one on the boot catch, but worth investigating.

Alternatively there is a fault with the boot catch itself or electrical actuation of it. Sorry not to be of more help!

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply,I think you're correct with spring loaded.from what I can see springs were replaced on the 6 series by gas
Pressured unit in later models. Thanks again might try and see how hard access is to the springs.
    Cheers
