I have a '96 525 tds that has had the fuel pump profesionally serviced but there is a problem with the voltage that is reaching the pump. I caused a strong arc by touching the +ve lead from the starter to the chasis, so we had the ECU fully checked as well as the electronics on the pump itself, all is fine. My fuel pump pro used his BOSCH software and it seems that there are at least 2 pins with incorrect voltage, can anyone suggest what might need to be substituted.
The engine will star but lots of smoke and idle isn't constant.
