Monumental bump here but I have a 3g Mk1 alarm in my 94 325i, it doesn't have EWS (no ring around the key barrel, no chips in the keys, no EWS box etc) but it does have the the alarm box very similar to the 3g Mk1 item (but it doesn't have the button to reset the fobs.)
My ZKE module has a yellow plug, a green plug and a larger black plug on the front, can I still fit the CODE function for the OBC?
I mean, I've seen early e36's with 18 button OBC's so you should be able to...shouldn't you?

Your car will have EWS I, not EWS II if it is a 1994. It's basically the same but doesn't have the chip-key system.

You can fit the code wire (black/green off pin 1 as I recall) and this will work with EWS I, all it does is supply voltage when activated.

Ahhh! I shall read that link more carefully!
I always thought EWS was the chip-in-keys system, I stand corrected.
