Hi folks i put a deposit on the above car on saturday unfortunately the roof was not working at the time, the dealer (independant) advised me it was the roof module and that it would be replaced, i've just called them today and the garage servicing the car is saying its the roof motor thats leaking and therefore not working, now i would assume its leaking oil but apparantly its £500 to replace but they are going to try and repair it, anyone come accross this before? i'm beginning to worry a bit about this as it will only have a 3 month warranty covering upto £500 (the car not the roof)

I would just say you want it replaced or you wont purchase the car... he will soon replace it with one with a years warranty rather than lose you as a buyer!! ....

Is it not a Hydraulic Pump system that is used in these roofs…., the parts for the system are shown here:

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...76&hg=54&fg=10

So pump could be leaking hydraulic fluid or any one of the cylinders/hoses....

As I said to you here:
    http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...-advice-t13286

make sure its fully fixed before buying the car. It sounds like bad news for the 30,000 miler 05.
