Just picked up a 60k mile E90 330i and have noticed on a few occasions that the clocks have been completely dead on startup but return to action after 20 seconds or so.

Is this a common problem and has anyone got any ideas as to what might be causing it?

    Thanks.

Sounds like it could be a low battery, if low they sometimes switch off all unnecessary bits. Do you get any warning lights as well?

No warning lights or other unusual indicators.

Did wonder whether the parking sensors weren't working one time but still new to BMWs so unsure

Clocks are dead on startup the majority of the time although not always.

Come back in to life between 30 & 50 seconds after engine start.

According to Cluster Repairs UK it's a fairly common problem and will get worse over time. Anyone else experienced anything like this?
