hi everyone dont know if anyone can help me sort this problem,I have a E91 2009 320i SE Touring ,since a week ago i noticed when the indicators are selected either left or right, they seem to flash ok for a couple of seconds then they start flashing extra fast the a bulb warning light comes up on the dash as if to say a bulb is out ,but when i come out to check which bulb it is i notice the rear indicator (either side ) are very dim then all of a sudden they become bright and work ok and vica- versa ,i've checked if the wires are pluged in ok and everything looks fine, any suggestion what the problem maybe?

could be a programming issue that has created a bug :P i wouldnt know exactly but you will proberbly have to go the the BM garage unless someone else might know :P but i would say its to do with the com if it has anything to do with the indicators but im not too sure.

OP, your car is still under factory warranty so let the dealer sort it out . May need a new FRM module.

I have just started having the same fault exactly as described by viper1.
Happened to be in the dealer for a handbrake repair Saturday and was told the indicator was probably due to a fault in the dashboard controller; he said "it will need and 'undisclosed' time on test anything between 2 and 16 hours"! Up to £1600 for an indicator fault

    Take a look at http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/po...ex.htm?t=85860
This guy went for an oil service and says his dealer has been told by BMW to check the rear indicators but he doesn't mention is its going to be covered by the warranty or not.

BMW has recalled this model to have the rear light assemblies replaced.
The call it a Technical Improvement, not Recall becasue its not considered safety critical.
Mine have just been changed free and the indicators now work fine.

Have got a similar problem on my 2009 318i msport touring.

Have posted in the 3 series section before I saw this - sorry.

Rear passenger side indicator LED works sometimes, sometimes has rows of LED missing, sometimes flashes like a XMas tree.

Booked in at Dealers on Friday, so I'll update when I have more info from him
