I need to leave my car on a battery charger / conditioner for long periods. Last time, althought an Optimate motorcycle charger was connected, in the engine bay, the battery was still flat after two months. I have bought a new charger, a CTEK 3600, which is meatier, but can anyone suggest the best place to connect to, be it engine bay, or direct to the terminals in the engine bay. I don't really want to disconnect the battery each time I leave it.

Engine bay...you will see an earth post attached to the off side inner wing for the -ve connection and you can use the +ve tap behind the expansion tank once you unclip the red cover.

Many thanks, have now tried the new CTEK 3600, and that works using the engine bay connections. What I didn't realise was that the car needs to be loked to "sleep" properly! When I left it before, it was unlocked, and apparently a few of the systems stay on line, and that was too much for the old, motorcycle charger. Ho Hum, technology marches on!
