    Hi guys,

There has been a post in the 1 series section, however I know that not many ventrue into that area often so, i've been told by 1 dealer that I can have CC retro fitted to the car for about £450. The dealership where I got my car from has said it would be £520. Its basiclaly just the new stalk, new underside housing for the steering collum and programing it on diagnostics.

They put random stuff on the car but didnt bother with Xenons and CC, however they did bother with active steering (which in my poinion could have been left off and CC fitted instead) anyways it turns out that I was correct when my car started making a strange noise from the steering wheel and the steering rack is shot! However they had the car for a day to strip it down, check it out and fit new alloys, but they 'forgot' to tell me that they hadn't doen anything to the steering as they needed the parts. This only became aparent when I phoned them the next again day to ask what they had done and why my car wasn't back the way I gave it to them.

Anyway my thoughts are, seen as they are going to be fitting a new steering rack on the car maybe they could see their way to fitting me Cruise Controll at the same time and I would only have to pay for the parts (and the diagnositcs).

Do you think I should be cheeky and ask? As i've had nothing but issues since I got the car in February.

If you don't ask you wont know, so give it a go, list the problems you have had and then tell them they owe you a favor.

Well i've asked, now bearing in mind they quoted me £530 last month for this, the told me that parts would be £395 and labour would be £400 plus vat! Thats because its a big job to do the coding. It takes an hour on Diagnostics. Seems like they would sting me for the labour on my warranty work.

Called the other dealership in town and they are quoting £450. Think I would rather take my chances with them than the dealership I bought from!

Guy did say in the first place well get us a written quote and we will see what we can do. Eh how about you've got a quote for £530 there from a month ago for starters!

Do you know if the instrument panel contains the cruise setting already?

I believe so, hence why it retro fitted however it may not be as dynamic as it claims and they cannot guarantee that if you brake the CC will automatically come off.

Yes, I don't believe it will be dynamic as the brakes will need to be wired in somehow.

I've decided lets not bother. I've bought a car which drinks fuel, not helped by a heavy right foot and being auto! So CC won't be much use to me. Just a nice to have, could use the dosh for a wee spa break out in the country
