I have a 56 plate, 325 I SE Touring.
When I lock and alarm the car the alarm goes off every time, sometimes it can take around 10 minutes and the alarm sounds, other times it can be hours, usualy around 3 am ish ( sorry neighbours ). I first noticed it in the winter, i presumed it was ice on one of the sensors causing this, but it is still happening now. Got to the stage I dont bother locking it at home anymore, as it only results in being woken up at an un-godly hour .
I dont have any air fresheners danglign in the car by the way, nothign loose in the car to make the alarm go off.
Also, I believe when you lock the car, if you press the lock button within 3 seconds it disables the interior sensor, I have done this many times, but the alarm still goes off randomly, so I guess it is not a fault with the internal sensor thats fitted to the roof ?
Any ideas ?
Common fault ?
Car is out of warranty of course now, so last thing I want to do is take it into BMW to try and find out the issue.
Any tips / hints / ideas appreciated.
