You will need to get the fault codes read for the ECU at a BMW specialists or main dealer, as for what may have caused it, have you jump started the car at all or used a boost pack?

    hi

many thanks for the reply, will need to find a decent garage in birmingham to take it to
the car has not been jump started nor a booster pack used , have been seaching the net for other people that may have had the same errors, a few sugest it may be the battery ,have had my battery load tested and it was ok . when the error appears i some times loose all the service info ie the miles left for the front brakes, rear brakes, oil, stat etc etc all read -----/------.

    Thanks.

My E92 loses all its marbles from time to time, loses all stereo pre-sets, service indicators, etc. If I turn the car off and restart all is fine. Dealer says no stored codes.
