After a thorough soaking at the weekend my car failed to unlock Monday morning via the keyfob. Once in using the pullout key, I checked the fuses, spare keyfob etc, and other remedies found on here. With help from Colin (BMWGM5.info), we worked out it was likely to be the amplifier in the spoiler.
My radio had previously packed up, and when I opened the boot yesterday, water poured down through a connection at the top of the boot below the spoiler.
Anyway, I'm ordering a new diversity amp from BMW Hereford later, and I should have it next week. But I've now another problem with the boot. It won't open when the cars unlocked.
I unlocked the car last night and the glass lid on the boot popped open. It does this everytime I unlock it now via the key. I've checked the fuses relating to the central locking and they look fine. When I close the glass lid I can't open it again, and the boot is locked. I can open the boot via the emergency release (behind the carpet bit on the inside of the boot).
Any ideas what's going on here? Could it be the actuator? The boot opened and closed fine monday morning. I went for a drive, took the dog out, fine. Monday night - locked out the boot.
If I'm going to need some new part I'd like to get it all ordered at once from BMW Hereford.
Thanks in advance.
