    My 3 Series E90 330i M Sport needs a new battery soon.

I have heard horror stories that one only has 30secs to get the old one out and new one in.

Is it that hard to change the battery without screwing up the cars electrics or blowing the chip.

Am I just reading misinformed rubbish.Someone tell me how changing the battery is just like it would be on a normal car. I have seen all the wires etc on the battery in the boot and it looks somewhat fussy..

I have heard that you have to re-register the new battery with BMW and they charge u for that ?

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks

the battery does need to be registered to the car so that the DME knows the size/amps of the battery. A BMW specialist can do this for you.

Battery only needs to be registered if you have an IBS.
