Really need some help with this one, had the car for a year now and no problems with the xenon, until last week, whats happening is when the lights main beam is turned on the they come on for a minute then the ns switches itself off, angel eyes are still working on both sides..

I've bought new bulbs and swapped the resistors over but getting the same thing happen. Thanks

It sounds like the unit itself has a fault inside, do they still have warrenty? id take them back or get pro to look at them.

Aftermarket ones, and they,ve been on the car two years now without any problems, and i've swapped everything over apart from the glass but its still passenger side light that goes out.. Think its looking like i need to book it in to bmw as it seems its the car thats turning it off..

BMW will tell you it is aftermarket, nothing they can do.

The car can not turn off bulbs. My guess is that the volts are dropping on the supply to the ballast.
When you say main beam is turned on, do you mean the main (blue indicator) beam headlights or do you mean dipped main beam?

I think the best course of action would be to check all the electrical contacts and connectors for corrosion. Also can you put a volt meter onto the 12v supply terminals to the ballasts. Please be very careful of the ballast output. The striking voltage of these bulbs is many 1000's volts.

Hello, its the main dipped beam thats playing up, had em all working last night then went to work this morning only drivers side working, so it seems its got a mind of its own.

Checked the voltage and when its out there's no power going to the ballast from the car, so done a bit of research and it seems to be pointing at the footwell module, which i hope it isn't as it looks like a £500 fix from bmw's..
