    Morning All,

I've just purchased a used 2005 525d M-sport. The i-drive system is reporting that I have a parking light failure on both left and right hand sides. The car is fitted with xenon lamps and they seem to be working fine, its just the angel eye's (rings) that don't seem to be working. When I turn on the side lights, one click to the right on the light switch the rings fail to come on, however the orange led lights seem to come on.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is it possible that both bulbs could be out?

    Any help would be appreciated.

That sure will bring on a lights out warning, check the bulbs and also check if there is a single fuse for both front angel eyes.

    Thanks Ronnie.

I had a look at the fuse diagram which indicates that there are 3 fuses which control lighting, I've checked these and they all seem to be ok. I can't find any information on which fuse specifically relates to the angel lights. Spoke to a stealership today who said to me that they can replace the bulbs at £15 a pop + approx £70 labour.

new to the forum. I have the exact same model with the same problem. I've purchased the new 5w bulbs and removed the headllight unit but for the love of god can't find the parking light bulb holder. any help with the location as i begrudge paying a garage £50 to change these for what will probably be a five minute job thanks in advance

the side lights ARE the parking lights people. Replace both 5w bulbs in each headlight and then see if the error goes away. Hope that helps

thanks for the diagram. is there a knack for getting them out as I did try that but it would not budge and assumed it wasn't the correct wire. don't want to snap the plastic attached to it. cheers
