    Hi everyone,
Just had flat battery and AA man tested and told me needed new one so changed it . Came out this morning and totally flat again . Another AA man said something was draining it after testing it after 15mins . I noticed that red light was on middle heater control even though doors all locked . The car had been starting slowly for a while and not sure if this light was always on . Also cigarette lighter has not been working for a while and not sure if this is related . Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks Clive

You need to check for a parasitic drain, like this, http://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Parasitic-Battery-Drain

Door handles can play up on these as can the IBS lead(Intelligent Battery Sensor) which isbuilt into the Negative lead that goes to the battery. If u disconnect the small red wire on top of the IBS(its power supply), the battery lead reverts back to just being a negative lead again,so you could try that and if the battery doesn't go flat then try a IBS lead.

Thanks ronnie i will give that ago . I took it into local bmw specialist today as it only just turned over this morning and started . They plugged it in and tested but found no faults although they did suggest the starter motor as it takes a few seconds to fire . I have done a parasite drain test but in sleep mode it was only showing a reading of 0.20 . Its baffling me and is a pain .
    Thanks again Clive
