Hello All. I've come across a really weird problem. Driving my other half's BMW 1 Series into work this morning the warning light for the electric window safety sensor came on, accompanied by an annoying bleep once every minute. The car was travelling slowly in traffic at the time and all 4 windows were closed. I stopped, checked all the doors and set off again, still beeping and the warning still flashing.

When I got to work I opened and closed all the windows but the bleeping continued. I tried something I found out there on the web, which said open and close the windows, but hold the button for 5 seconds when fully open and fully closed. Still the beeping continued. Not really sure what started it as the system works on a current limit, when something is trapped between the glass and the frame, the motor draws more current and the system tells the motor to reverse. When the light and beeping came on the car had all the windows shut.

Any ideas, the beeping is doing my head in ?

Not something I've heard of before, you need to get the fault codes read for the body control module though, any Main dealer(more expensive) or BMW Independent specialist will be able to do this for you.

Also you have your car listed as a 1 series, 1994? Can you clarify the year please.
