    Hi all,

New to this forum, so ive owned my 6er now for close to 5 months. Everything is perfect except one thing....the bluetooth. Now I KNOW there is a bluetooth module in this vehicle as my Blackberry business phone connects to the car. So it connects....and then simply returns me in the communication menu & says 'insert sim card' into that dated phone cradle thing. Now ive been informed on other forums that you may just need to have a specialist/stealership just untick phone prep or something, ive taken it to BMW garage also and they said they can have a look into it for 'x' amount but no gaurentee it will work....so ive booked to have it looked into tomorrow by a BMW specialist nearby...a BMW master technician who wont charge the stupid 115 per hour or whatever...he seems to know his stuff...so wish me luck....i am going to solve this bluetooth issue once and for all

What would be the point of having bluetooth and still having to insert the sim???

Some models were specced with the built in handset and the Bluetooth is just a Bluetooth link to that phone so it can be used wireless in the car. Other phones will connect to it but without the correct interface will not work in any way.
