    Hi,

Hope someone can help, i recently bought myself an X5 e53 on a 54 plate and have started to notice problems withthe speakers.

It has the sat nav and when the nice lady comes to talk the speakers will intermit with each other, swapping from all speakers working to only one of the front ones. This also happens when you turn the radio on a bit too loud??

Could the amp be going or is it the control unit?

    Cheers Rob

My guess (and it is a guess) would be the amp or possibly a low-resistance issue with one of the speakers or (unlikely but possible) the wiring. You could try disconnecting speakers one at a time and see if the problem goes away.

Having said that it could be almost anywhere but I think you would be reasonable to assume that the satnav bit is unlikely to be the fault.
