Exactly one year ago my left xenon bulb went out. So after swapping the bulbs it showed that it wasn't the bulb itself. So I didnt some research and narrowed it down to the ballast being the problem.

Had this replaced and coded and all was good.

However a year later the left xenon is out again.

I havn't had a chance to change the bulbs over to check a bulb hasn't blown but assuming they are fine, anyone got any ideas why the ballast could have gone again?

Was the replacement ballast new? Also, just wondering what coding was required.

Ok, it was coded to the LCM. Well, that could be your possible problem. Might be worth while getting the codes read from it.

Sorry. Why would that cause the xenon to go out, out of interest?

A faulty light module can cause problems like this if one of the power switching transistors within cause a surge meaning it's on it's way out. I remember another member having similar problems with his ballast and levellers which turned out to be a faulty LCM.

    Isn't a xenon light control module/unit a ballast?

Your main light switch houses the LCM...LINK

    I am now completely confused.

    Can we start again

Ok my glossary of understanding is.

A Ballast/CONTROL UNIT XENON LIGHT is the grey box thing that is under the light housing.

    What does LCM stand for?

I thought LCM stood for "light control module" which is another word for the ballast, which is they grey box under the light housing.

A ballast controls the xenon bulb. The LCM (Light Control Module) controls the ballast. In basic terms, the ballast converts low voltage to high voltage and signal for the igniter which is needed for the xenon to work.
