    boot lock works then doesnt work 1st stopped on a frosty morning in december then last week but opened today, its a pain in the behind, now wiper has stopped working and heated screen is performing on a low power by the looks of the screen when its on, any one help??cheers

    Sounds like you may have a problem with the wiring that passes from the car onto the bootlid/hatch. Check under the rubber gaiter for damaged wires.

    This is a very common fault and like Red has mentioned, the first place to check

    I've actually done this very job on a Rover, it's not just a Beemer problem, but yes I have read it many times on here

    This is a very common fault and like Red has mentioned, the first place to check

    You should also remove the trim panel from the boot as they are common for getting water ingress into the boot and it ruins the motor and other items

    Never steam clean around the rear wiper on a touring e46! ....................
