can anyone help. during the resent cold spell my 2004 E46 320d as been rough idling on first start for a few seconds and emitting the excessive white smoke, she always starts. Previous experience tells me its a pre heat problem.
I,ve had the scanner on and get all 4 glow plug error codes
Glow plug cylinder 1,2,3 & 4
open circuit, fault would not
cause the fault lamp (mil) to
light up, currently not present
Scanner used is MacScan running Omiscan Version v14.1.0
Codes will clear but as soon as you fire her up again they come back
Since i changed the glow plugs last year when i deflaped her,(installed Bosch Duratherm, told they were better than Beru which i removed) I think all 4 plugs going down within 10 months is very unlikly.
would it be the preheat control unit,or is there a main fuse which powers that. or somthing else? am i right in thinking you access the preheat unit from under the car passanger side.
thanks in advance
