Nice one Steve that'll be really useful for me too. I had the same fault a couple of weeks ago & did the extra earth diy, all is well but I'd rather do a proper job but I wasn't aware BMW sell a repair kit

Hi guys..... I have an update on this....

I went to my stealers to buy the kits and turns out that it's a bit of a DIY job in order to get it to work!

    They sold me:
    1 x Connection block £1.00
10 or so wires at £1 per wire

    Which came to about £16

I also need... the bulb holders they had at £22 each!

So.... to solve all the problems I got a mate to snip the wire, join it and attach it to the earth on the unit using a clip.

I gave him £20 and he's done a BRILLIANT job!

Hopefully it should sort the problem out and all should be ok!

I'm now going off to take the parts back so I can get my £16 back from BMW stealers.

If Chris is no longer interested in these Steve and you still want to get shut of them, I need to replace the block and the nearside bulb holder on my saloon. ???

    Cheers

Thanks Chris, it sounded like you were sorted but only right and fair to ask first

Any idea what/if there's a ifx/answer to the reason why my front drivers side bulb warning light is now coming on the dash?!

    Arrggghhhh!!!

I think the fix I've done and what I think eddiee46 is talking about is well worth saving your money and doing it by hand. It involves taking the offending earth out of the block and attaching it via a crimp to a small handle that BMW seem to have left on the circuit. Ok it's a modification but it saves you the best part of £100 on BMW parts and a LOT of time to fit them!
