Update on this Ronnie, Had a guy come round to scan the car,( satellite front left )He says the sensor should either be located in the left side A or B piller.

Well I've investigated both these areas and not a sensor to be found

Have you any ideas at all where this satellite sensor thingy is or even seen a picture of one for identification purposes.

When you google the word there's absolutely no information of it's location.

found this link today stating the satellite sensors are located (as you said earlier ronnie) under and attached to the drivers and passengers seat frames.

I've removed both seats and can say without a doubt there are no sensors or even wires anywhere near the frames. Only sensor I can find is directly under the seat/carpet (p/n 0 273 004 593) which is indeed a sidebag crash sensor.

Surely this must be the satellite sensor?

I'll give quarry motors a ring and see if they have one in stock.

Hey Ronnie, Well I changed the sensor (25 quid from quarry motors). Still getting the "error indication code" and also after fitting the replacement sensor I'm also getting "29 side impact sensor".

I've replaced the replacement sensor with the original sensor and now I'm back to square one with the original code. I reckon the quarry sensor must be faulty or not compatable with my car, anyway sent it back.

Tbh Ron, I'm sick to death of taking the passenger seat out and don't really think this sensor is faulty. Something must be wrong in the electrical system somewhere. My next move is to dig deep and take it to bmw before it really does end up cracking me up.

Cheers for your help anyway and I will let you know what the fault was if I ever do find out.

BTW, Do you think this minor error would stop the airbags activating in a crash? I've read, that non serious errors don't always deactivate the airbag system???

    Jay
