    Hi

I Have 2 faults relating to the lights on my 318ti.

First one is the 3rd brake light in the rear window. This has stopped working. I have had 2 garages look at the wiring / connections and neither can work out what the problem is. I have removed the light unit it seamed to be knocking out the other brake lights when fitted. Any ideas what this might be?

2nd fault is the broken bulb indicator on the dash. This is pretty much always lit (I say pretty much as sometimes it isn't) saying the right hand headlight is out when the lights are off. When the lights are turned on by the Auto lights or manually it goes out. When I turn the lights on to check the bulbs, all seam fine. Any ideas on what this might be also?

The third brake light has a suppressor in circuit. Check for voltage at it between the black/yellow and brown wire both on the input side and the output side. The suppressor may be jiggered.

Not sure about the headlight lamp. The system checks the state of the bulbs even when they are switched off, by briefly powering them up so quickly that they don't actually come on, so if the connections at the bulb are dirty or corroded, it may affect the reading. Might be worth checking the connections.

    Here is the suppressor

Great. I'll give these a go, and post back when all is working!
