    Hey guys and gals

I have a small problem, and wanted to get some advice, when I put the car into reverse, I get a long high pitch note, I have found this means there is a problem with the parking sensors, So how do I find out which parking sensor is at fault ?

any advice for this fault would be appreciated.

this may or may not be connected but as its in the same area I thought I would mention it, the heated rear window doesn't work either I need to replace the rear door hinge as it's snapped so will be looking to fix this at the same time while I have it in bits.

As a starting point, you should be able to hear each sensor click with the car in reverse with the ignition on. If its not clicking, its definitely not right. (But clicking doesn't guarantee it is OK if that makes sense...)

You can test the parking sensors with INPA if you have it, or know anyone that has it. Reverse up close to a wall, inpa will tell you the distance on each sensor, you can find the faulty 1 that way

The clicking isn't very reliable, inpa can be quite complicated to set up but if you know someone handy with a computer it's straightforward. You'll need a Obd:USB cable and download the software.

    Cable:

    Software and guide for installing:

    Guide: Installing INPA/EDIABAS on Windows 7 64bit

It costs you the price of the cable and pays for itself the first time you use it. Every time you get a diagnostics done it costs about £25-£45.

And you can scan all errors on your car with it

Good luck if you plan to try it
