hi ,today i fitted a set of xenons to my e46 2004 facelift cabby,(projector headlights)very simple fit and only took me half an hour to do the pair ,tested and all working fine ,now tonight i checked them again and looked great ,until i turned them off at the switch ,,,on turning them back on drivers side flickers realy fast like the bulb was falling out of its housing,so i turned them off and on and still the drivers side was flickering ,hmmmmmmmmmmm ,turned off the engine and turned them back on perfect, off and on with no engine running no flicker at all, turned the lights on and started the engine still perfect, turned the lights off then back on with engine running flicker was back ,now its a brand new kit ,do you think it could be a faulty ballast or a faulty bulb ,or neiter as without the engine running there perfect ,so in short if im driving and it goes dark ill have to stop turn off engine and turn lights on and start engine again before the flicker will stop ,im baffled any help please ,ty

is ita non original retrofit kit? if it is, then i would succest a relay from kl30 to your ballast, in many cases its the start power to ballast who is insufficent and not enough.

some of the kits dont work right with e46/e39, i just had the same issue, you need cambus pro, there more expensive but they do work.

also there is a simple resistor you can solder into the 2 wires that gos into the ballast that solves the problem. its because of the light warnings on the dash. as somone said it would have been a bit more expencive but you would have needed to buy a digital kit, they have the resistors built into the ballast.
