Can anyone identify the red and black wires on bellow pics? They seem to come out of the tunnel from drivers side. The red one was stuck in purple socket whose wires are coming out of gear lever switch, and the black one was disconnected. Does anyone know what they are and where is the black supposed to go?

I saw this trying to determine why my back up lights don't work before I cut open the snorkel to the boot lid...

    Would appreciate any feedback!

That doesn't look like standard wiring, maybe an after market fitment that's been removed.

Was thinking the same, but the red one was plugged into the purple connector with the pink wire, and the black seems to have fallen out of somewhere. I tried to find from where since the red wire left a visible mark over the pink wire into which is plugged so I tried to see if there is such trace on any other wire but none.

The wires from the purple switch are coming out of the gear lever and I thought maybe this is the reason why I have no reverse lights. I tried plugging the black into the remaining wires on the switch but nothing happened.

I thought someone might have a clue before I start stripping the rubber snorkel in the boot to look for broken wire to fix the reverse lights...

    Hi,

I had a problem with a wire snapping in my gearbox selector and the rear parking sensors stopped working. Might be worth while checking if it's linked to your rear sensors.
