The battery on my 2004 e46 convertible needed replacing, I have bought and fitted the replacement battery but when I close the door the window does not shoot up into the rubber seal it stays just below like when you open the door leaving a slight gap between the top of the window and roof. Can any please tell me if this is a safety feature to ensure you can open the door if the battery is removed, and more importantly how to get it to operate as normal.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Dan

Try holding the window switch down for 30 seconds, it should reset the open/close feature
