I have a Z4 3.0 with 44k on the clock, and full sheaf of papers from new. I was second owner, dealer used it for demos for 4k before I had it for a song and have been well pleased ever since.

Now though I am getting worried its showing some wear & tear, and don't know what to do. The power steering light has started to come on randomly at low rev's, very intermittently, at the same time the DSC light comes on, and the radio goes quiet.

Its fitted with the proffesional sat nat with the LCD screen, and the Proffesional HIFI amp in the boot. Its the mid one, without the DSP. The sat nav stays on when this happens, and the battery lights don't come on. The steering did get heavy though, cant be sure if there was no assistance at all though.

Have not taken it to dealer yet, as wife will moan if diagnostics show something costly, what do you guys think its likely to be? Car was sat idle for most of last year, and had a new battery in November, no problems since. Starts first time, and has normally no problems.

It could be the steering angle sensor.
