Did you fit yourself or did you have it fitted at a specialists?

Is the audible tone the same when unhitched/hitched up?

Was there a loom there ready or did it have to be spliced into the existing loom?

I'm pressuming that the tow bar does not obscure any sensors?

Hello waggie. I have the same problem with my Westfalia removable bar, but only when the plastic ball cover is in place. Try it without the cover. Mine isn't a problem because I only have the bar fitted when I tow. If yours is a fixed bar, then that could be annoying.

I believe the light control module and PDC sensors ECU needs to be recoded to tell them a tow bar has been fitted.
