    Hello all

I ahev recently purchased myself an 03 coupe sport which is stolen/recovered. The vehicle came with no keys. The drivers door is open, the passenger is locked. When i connect the battery the car still "thinks" the alarm is armed as the led under the rear view flashes, and when I turn the radio on in the car it sets the alarm off.

Obviously I need a new set of keys. Ive spoken to BMW and they can supply me with a lock kit, 2 keys and EWS unit for £250 which I didnt think was bad considering keys are £100 a pop. Im going to fit the locks myself, but they have told me the car will need an hour on the diagnostics for coding. Is this true? There is a local garage near me who specialise in BMWs who may well have the correct diagnostic software... is it worth asking them or is it dealer only stuff?

Next, I could do with getting the passenger door open without waiting weeks until I get the keys sorted etc. I cant do this from inside as its deadlocked. I read on a Z3 forum that there is a way to unlock/lock the doors by removing the glovebox, exposing some alarm module and shorting a couple of pins out. Has anyone any experience with this or more to the point does anyone know how I can get my passenger door open!

Lastly, Is there a way to get the vehicle into neutral without having a key?

    Cheers

    Craig

The programming is required as the EWS module needs coding to the vehicle. I had to have my car transported to my local dealer to have this done when my EWS module failed and required a replacement.

It is only BMW that can do this. To order the parts you will need to provide proof of ID, proof of ownership of the car and proof of address

£250 sounds like a very good price to me

Hi, Take it to Autotechnics on Carr Hill, They are behind the car wash on the right hand side. They have the proper BMW diagnostic software, they will be able to sort it out for you. They used to work at BMW so they might be able to help you with the door unlocking and putting in neutral. This is their web site http://autotechnicsuk.com/index.html
