I've had both my Number Plate lights short out due to water ingress and basically melt. Now, I've cut into the wires and spliced some led puddle lights (from Halfords) in their place, which seem to work fine and look pretty cool imo. But I did this whilst the whole handle unit hung by its plug. I couldn't work out how to get it off without breaking it.
So, fistly does anyone know how to release the plug. If you have a pic that would be great.
Secondly, I now get a headlight fault light (o/s) where the side light is off and the indicator is on and dim. It only does it for a few mins and then the light goes out and all works as it should until the next time I start up. I think this may be down to my modification to the number plate lights, so I want to unhook the boot handle to see if this has an affect.
If anyone has a theory on the light fault, it would be appreciated. I've done the usual checks, water ingress or a loose plug on the Headlight/Indicator, but all looks fine. And if you think that unplugging the Handle will make a difference?
Thanks in advance
