    Hi

I have purchased some led side repeaters for my car. They have bulbs built in to them and have a red and black wire on each one. My question is do I cut the existing bulb holder off and join these wires up or just cut into both wires using one of those cable joiner blocks. Also, am I likely to get any errors and if yes how do I stop them. I think I may need a resistor if I do, where does that fit into the wiring and what do I need. I work for an electronics co so I should be able to get something if I know what I need

Cheers in advance for your answers

    Hey Mate,
You will need a resistor in series with the circuit, only a couple of ohm, because your indicators will be quicker than they should be due to the lower resistance of the LED's compared to filament bulbs.
I'm not to sure about errors, E36 Boy here.
    Good luck!

I have access to resistors at my work and there are people here who can solder them in for me. Can someone confirm exactly what I need ohms wise and ideally a pic of where to solder it. I've found some 10w 5 ohm brass looking resistor which are similar to ones indicated as required on here so am getting those soldered as we speak. Hopefully it will all work.

    Cheers guys

I have attached an image of my led indicators with the resistor soldered in. The resistor is 10w 5ohm. Can someone please confirm the resistor is in the right place.

    Thanks
