    Hi folks.

My car will not unlock at all off the fob button (either of the two keys); It had started to be tempremental but now its is not cooperating at all.

It locks on the fob and does open the boot using the other button.

When I put the key in the driver's door, it only unlocks that door and nothing else.....so as a newbie, I am perplexed considering the potential complexity of such cars.

I would be very grateful if someone in-the-know could give some insight, please.

    Thanks

    Jules

Sounds like the C/L relays in the GM5 module, fellow member Colin Abraham has replaced many other members relays including mine.

You can contact Colin via http://www.bmwgm5.co.uk/ and he'll be able to answer all your questions.

As a stop gap and if you get the car C/L open then simply remove fuse No.60 to disable C/L then open, close & lock doors manually.

and from the man himself from a previous thread.....

Remove the GM5 module (see http://bmwgm5.info/removal.html ), with the wires still connected. This is a little tricky as you have to lean over the central console.
The close the drivers door and put the key in the ignition.

Give the GM5 module a firm slap with you hand and then operate the central locking button on the centre console. Repeat this until the doors open.

Once you have got the doors unlocked, remove fuse 60. This is prevent the central locking system from operating.
