New car to me, BMW330TDsport tourer-had it on diagnostics as it keeps losing power spasmodically usually when accelerating, doesn't do it all the time.
most of the time behaves impeccably, but a bit of a nuisance when it does it on motorway.
Readings on diagnostic show as follows- 4704-Prefeed pressure
    and 7728-Pressure sensor-/ boost,
Anybody any ideas any help appreciated. thanks again

Initially thought this may be a simple MAP sensor error but after a bit of delving it looks like error code 4704 Pre feed pressure sensor is a fuel pressure related error.

Any strange noises from under the passenger seat as that's where one of the fuel pumps is situated?

4704 error code is listed in this thread http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...evs-and-t6515/

Found a bit more info on the 4704 error code Colin, one of these could be causing the error but it is Low Fuel Pressure or dodgy sensor incorrectly sensing Low Fuel Pressure that is causing it.

Either of the fuel pumps, although extremely unlikely it is the High Pressure pump as you would have many more severe running issues.

The rail pressure sensor or the rail pressure regulator. The sensor is on the front of the fuel rail, the regulator is at the back of the rail by the bulkhead. They might just need cleaning?

    Leaking Injector or injectors
