    Hi all,

I really need some help. I've posted original issue in E46 tech threads but I now need more help. To cut a long story short, I have abs, handbrake, etc warning lights and I've also lost my speedo and mph needle. Now I've replaced the NSR abs sensor as I was told this was the cause but the issues are still there. My plea for help is to see if someone can plug it in for me and read the codes. Personal circumstances mean i can't really afford to take it to a garage and pay their prices. I'd be happy to give the person some beers or something as a thank-you. I'm more than confident to fix the issue once found but after buying the sensor and the problem still to be there id rather find out what's really wrong before I buy any more parts. I live in southampton Hampshire and would really appreciate it if someone could offer their OBC reading skills.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Well that's not good news! Plugged it into the machine and its not reading the faults "no communication" apparently. The blokes going to tale it to the garage and see if he can did out the problem. Sad times.

Hmmm... Faulty ABS ECU possibly in that case?

It's off to a friends garage for a thorough investigation. Just don't have the time to sort it out myself. I'll report back after Thursday as to what seems to be the problem.

    Faulty ABS OR something else???

I also have this problem with my 318i e46. Mine started off being intermittent at first, lights would come on, no speedo or fuel consumption gage etc then go off. Then one day they came on and never went back off. I still have my rev counter but even my petrol gage isnt working correctly.

well however, i came across another explanation in another thread

Mine only started after i had both wishbones replaced along with a new throttle cable and brake pads. The brake pads i bought do not have the sensor on them but i still dont think this would cause all the other lights etc to come on, so what mr keith says above makes sence to me as i KNOW my wheels need aligning and balancing
